i have never been in so much pain. i hurt from my left waist to the top of my left leg, including the groin and abdominal area. i can't lay down, sit down, sitting on the toliet is excruciating, etc., etc.

went to doc and he says, oh yeah, classic symptoms, ruptured L2 and L3. i had bulges before so i guess they blew out.

recommended best rest then limited movement, pain pills and then when he said steroids, i said no way....

so please if anyone has any recommendations i need help please.

i am taking the difulcan for the yeast but quite frankly, i'm in so much pain i'm not hungry.

just wish i would go ahead and die feeling, really...this is a 10, absolutely 10 pain....

UGH!!! Are you taking any systemic enzymes? Some of those will help pain and inflammation.

Bromelain, serrapeptase, Rutozym, Wobenzyme are some examples.

he said vicodin but i throw that up -- i can't take any pain pills. he said oxycontin and i said absolutely not, so he said, well then tough it out and use OTC.... arrghhh,

how many do you think? i have wobenzyme....

I don't know how many since I've never taken that one. Don't overdo as it can affect your stomach if you do.

Read the label and begin there.

I hope this resolves SOON!!!!!

Wow, Randi,

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain and hope it passes soon.

I dont know if you would consider Tylenol with codene but is a good alternative to narcotics.

Get well soon! [Smile]

Did you doctor do an MRI? I would get one done if possible just to see what's going on.

I ruptured my L5-S1 and the pain was horrible so I know what you are going through. I could barely walk but pushed myself. Big mistake.

This was 2 years ago and I was given prednisone to get the nerve inflammation down. I can't take prednisone now though.

I took an NSAID called Etodolac (Lodine) 3 times a day. I also iced my back to get the nerve inflammation down. That's what's causing the horrible pain is the nerves might be compressed.

Theh Lodine helped and so did the icing. I was also given vicodin and flexeril though the flexerill didn't do any good.

I ended up having a discectomy which was actually a good thing because it stopped the pain.

I wish you a speedy recovery. This pain is awful.
