I posted this question in the current B12 post, but did not receive an answer.
My LLMD told me to take B12 orally last year because my blood test showed that the stores were low. I have since gone off of abx.
Earlier this summer I was diagnosed as hypothyroid and just this month was diagnosed with a sleep disorder. Needless to say, I'm not sure what is making me tired at this point.
I haven't been taking the B12 for a while because my next blood test will test for this, but I wanted to know if any of you know if the B12 stores recover once the Lyme is in remission.
Thanks. Cara

Lyme can cause hypothyroid. I don't know if it fixes itself when Lyme is gone or not.
I would stay away from psychiatric drugs as a "fix" for sleep problems. More B vitamins and B1 and calcium/magnesium can help with this.
If you're fatigued during the day, perhaps you should check with an LLMD.
Best,

Iam not sure I think once you build back up your stores and your off abx's and if the intrinsic factor returns I would say no not a perminent condition. But if the intrinsic factor dosent return then shots yes? or if it returns but is not up to to par or as good as it was then occasional shots? Iam still taking my shots and I have been off abx's since march 08. I am also taking b complex vitamins and mag,& acidophilis. Seems like I need a shot about every four days some times 6 days?
-------------------- Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Remember Iam not a Doctor Just someone struggling like you with Tick Borne Diseases.
I know that the hypothyroid is permanent. I wasn't diagnosed until finishing treatment for Lyme. I will have to take thyroid meds for the rest of my life.
I'll have to see what my B12 does in a couple of weeks.
