Hi this is kinda long but I feel I needed to

include all the info, and I really need some

help, so if your up to reading this please do.

So I've been sick for over a year now and was

clinicly diagnosed with Lyme about 6 months ago

by Dr.M in NYC. I never tested pos, but had all

symptoms plus a bite and bulleye rash 9 years

ago.I was on Doxy and ceftin, which seemed to

work for about 4 months. I would herx and

be a bit better month by month.

Then I went on a trip to London, at first, I

felt the best I had in ages, but by the end I

was very sick, This lasted much longer then a

normal herx, about a month.

Dr.M decided it might be something else besides

Lymes like Lupus, he took me off of the abx and

onto steriods to see how I would react. Needless

to say I became much much worse, I quit them

immediatly and slowly started my doxy again and

then those symptoms slowly went away.

The real problem began when I upped my doxy to

200 mg, I got really sick which I thought was a

herx it lasted for one week, the 8th day I was

better but the next day I was sick again. I was

miserable for 2 days and bedridden but then the

real bad stuff started. For the next 4 days

whenever I would eat, even the smallest or

healthiest thing, I would have a pain episode,

where the pain that I was already having would

triple, my head and stomach felt like they would

explode and sometimes I would vomit. I was taken

by the ambulance to the hospital, they didn't

want to admit me, but I made them for pain

management.

For the four days the episodes of pain would

last for about 4 hours but when they

finally went away I still felt horrible, the

worst. Then after day four the pain episodes

stopped happening with food and just became

continual. The hospital did many tests but

couldnt find anything, they kicked me out even

though Im in just as much pain and just as sick.

Dr.M had previously told me that the oral abx

werent working anymore because I needed to

do I.V., then he told the docs at the hospital

that the oral abx wasnt working anymore because

maybe it wasn't lyme. Now I cant seem to get

ahold of him to explain this to me!

I've been in extreme pain for the last year and

dealt with it, I never imagined it could get

this much worse. I also can barely eat now and

have already lost 10 lbs. Does anyone have any

ideas or had something similar happen? please...

I can't believe a doctor would take you off abx and put you on steroids! Are you sure this is an LLMD???

I would make an appt. with an LLMD. You still need treatment. Sorry you're feeling so bad.

Are you sure your dr is a llmd? Were coinfections considered?

maybe its time for another llmd opinion.

just so you know doxy caused lots of stomach problems including pain /nausea for me...

if you ask around lymenet i think you will see that alot of us have found it to be hard on the stomach.

Hope you find some answers that get you feeling better soon.

Six and Lymie,

He was supossed to be an LLMD, I got him on a

list of names from this site, but obviously he

doesn't know as much as he should, I am

currently searching for a new doc.

Azure,

I had been on Doxy before though without those

serious problems, and the weird thing is the

stomach pain comes right along with the extreme

head pain so who knows...

Thanks for your responses.
