I want to go to Florida for the Winter. Currently on Doxy.

Anyone know what might be a good alternative to the doxy so that I can enjoy the sunshine?

Thinking of high dose amoxy? Need something that crosses the BBB.

Amoxy would work. I think Bicillin would, too.

Yes, I had good luck with amoxicillin (875 2x/day) all summer along with plaquenil and diflucan.

I was sunburning terribly on doxy and had no reaction on amoxicillin.

Thanks Six,

Did 16 weeks of Bicillin only one shot per week...conservative LLMD. Didn't seem to do much for me.

At least at that dose. Took me off of that and put me on doxy. I have also had about 4 months IV Rocephin. zith for awhile. One month of Cipro and had muscle cramps.

I use Biaxin and Plaquenil in the sunny months. No problems with sun sensitivity. And I CRAVE the sun.
