I started plaquenil in addition to amoxicillin and diflucan a couple weeks ago. Since starting plaquenil, I've had constant very mild cold sores on my upper lip.
In the past, I have gotten cold sores on my lip when I'm sick or in the sun. So they are not new to me, but I've never had them so mild and never constantly for 2 weeks. I know cold sores are a type of the Herpes virus. I've had them since I was a kid.
Since treating Lyme I've noticed I haven't gotten any cold sores in months (which has been nice).
Is this a herx from plaquenil or an indicator of something else?
Thoughts?
Thanks!

My guess would be a virus or yeast, but it's just a guess. Hope you figure it out, they sure can hurt.
