Sore Tongue normally means low b-12. Is your tongue red?

Google low B-12 symptom, I was shocked when I found out how many of these symptoms I had.

Also, search this board for B-12, there are some fantastic posts about this topic.

Good luck!

I have had weird symptoms in the past on both my tongue and on the roof of my mouth. It almost felt like I had burnt my mouth maybe the day before on hot pizza. It drove me nuts...didn't necessarily hurt...hard to explain.

Anyway, the sensation seems to have subsided with ongoing antibiotic treatment. Oddly enough, it was a symptom that crept up a few months AFTER I had started treatment but eventually subsided (knock on wood).

I think I posted about this in the past if you want to do a search...

I get a burning tongue all the time when I cheat and eat carbs/sugar.

It warns me my yeast is going up, up, up. Then I pump up the probiotics and antifungals.

I get the burning/scalded tongue symptom too. It also affects my taste buds. Sometimes I even have chemical like taste. The roof of mouth is effected too, food or beverages will easily cause a blister, yet my husband eats the exact same food and he says the food is not hot and causes no problems for him.

I had chalked it up to overly acidic system with more acid in saliva likely causing it. Still not sure what the exact cause of it is.

My guess is that lyme disease, like many chronic illnesses, makes our systems too acidic.

For those interested, you can home test the PH acidity of your saliva and urine using PH-ion test strips. The kit is less than $10 on line. Being in a very acidic state predisposes your body to other system dysfunctions so its a good thing to test and know your levels.

You test over a 3 day period at various times of the day and then follow a formula in the booklet to reach a single number for comparison.

They have re-balancing kits where you add drops to distilled water. There are other ways to rebalance as well using natural rememdies such apple cider vinegar.
