Hi all,

I am seeing an LLMD in December (that was the soonest appointment I could get), but in the meanwhile, I will be seeing an infectious disease doctor in Boston this friday at Tufts.

Any advice or suggestions? Worth bringing my negative western blot tests for the Dr. to see?

Can I convince this Dr. to try some antibiotics on me?

Just don't want to wait till Dec. with my symptoms getting worse.

With a negative test, he's unlikely to do anything for you. Yes, bring the test result along.

I'm glad I'm not you. I don't think I could handle seeing an ID doctor. I would want to chop off their head.

Have you tried a walk-in clinic? I don't recall... do you have a rash?

This is almost certainly going to be a waste of time. You will get IDSA party line which has produced so many chronic cases not getting treated. Maybe you should be looking farther afield for an appointment that happens sooner. Or find a walk in clinic that might allow you to get an IGeneX test. You can order the testing kit now without a doc, but you will need a doc order to get the blood draw and learn the results. So, having the kit in hand when you go to a clinic might convince them to order the test for you. Don't know if they would then treat you, but that would put you one step ahead.

You really need to contact a local support group to get advice. I doubt very much they would think this ID appt. has any value.
