Its me again! Also my doctor put my on Amitriptyline, she said it was a muscle relaxer for my jaw to take at night time and that it would help me sleep i took 100mg of it before i went to bed with my Topamax and it didn't help me sleep and seemed to help some what with the pain but the pain is right back to normal this morning. Has anyone tried this before for pain?

Hi there [Smile]

I take it for leg pain but I don't take a high does. I take 25 mg at bedtime along with 100 mg of Nuerontin.
I found that if I try to increase either one of those that I get choking problems, like liquid going down the wrong pipe. It took me quite a while to figure out the choking problem but I hardly ever get it now.

Thats a TCA right?

Wicked for me..caused terrible dry throat.

But...I do think it takes several weeks to know if it will help for pain...ask your doctor.
