I have been on Zhang's for 3.5 months and it is really helping me. I had Neuroligical symptoms and they are disappearing. You should get his book...Neurological symptoms are mostly from inflammation.

I've been on Zhang Artemesia, and now I've begun Coptis and HH about 2 weeks ago. The Herxheimer reaction was potent. It happened 2 days after I began, and was stronger than any antibiotic I've used to date, except Bactrim.

Yes. When I've been able to manage my funds and be on this it was very helpful. I wish now that I had stuck with it when I could have pulled the resources.
I also know of others who have seen various levels of success.

anyone else see relief or improvement on the zhang herbs?
ive done 6 months with little improvement. i am done for now due to how expensive they are, i may continue later with alternate forms.
it is interesting some of us have herxes but i am curious if there is improvement that is long term?
i am frustrated because i spent the last 6 months on zhang and i wish i could continue but 300 bucks a month (or more) is just crazy in addition to everything else i do.
i guess i can go back if need be...
anyone else who has seen marked improvement i would like to hear about it very much

Have you gone to see Dr. Z, has he check your pulses? Maybe you need adrenal support. If my heart rate could handle it I would still be on the traditional "kidney yang" deficiency formula that many Chinese medical doctors use. I find that boosting the adrenals really helps. I would be interested to see if you went to see Dr. Z and he checked your pulses, maybe he would add some adrenal herbs.

my adrenals are actually ok, just tested. they are a bit high so i supplement with relora actually to bring the AM cortisol leval down some.
adrenals, heavy metals, detox, abx, herbs, supps, pretty much everything is covered by my dr.
just OCD me always wondering what i can or should be adding or doing differently to allow my body to heal better & at a faster pace...
i have not seen dr zhang, too much $$ right now and for what? ive wasted money endlessly on things trying to get well, i am starting to become more reserved at what i am willing to spend funds on..
im not saying he doesnt help people, i am sure he does, its just ridiculously priced.

I have used it on my son.It was his artemisin that kicked out his babesia and not the rest of antibiotics.( sorry in his case -none of them had the potential to kick out his strain of babesia -even mepron ) but only Zhangs artemisin YES.
Also Me -I had used up to 15 HH capsules....and have found that I am HUNGRY more than ever.Have enjoyed food for the first time in 30 years ( I used to be picky and stare at the food for years).
Not anymore ....Also my neurological issues GONE 90 %.I sleep with no pills anymore and i fel asleep right away when I wake in the middle of the night to give my son -THE PILLS or Rechstregulat.
OK 2 days ago it came out that I was not done with PROTOZOAS...as now a new strain came up.While for 15 months I tested negative for artemisin ( the first treatment was 2 years ago ) and now it showes -YESTERDAY that I needed up to 9 ARTEMISIN.
DR Z artemisin -put me on a herx right away -for babesia.My last spot of headache was gone.I WAS 100% neuro lyme .My band 30 was +++ ( garini ) worst of all and have had 7 coinfections...
I am no neuro thanks to the protokoll and herbs.Yes drugs helped...but herbs in conjuctions to them helped TREMENDOUSLY .I think I will give them a great merit.
GO for HH .....and work your way up...FOUND out that HH works better with ALLICIN combined...and I see that really works ..if you can take as many allicin as you take HH and work your way and and keep it to that level for at least 3 months.
I am on the forth month.Now I am using artemisin .up to 9 pills again today .HErxed on chils for 2 hrs every time I take the pill.Thanks god I fell asleep now when in herx..I love it ...I USED TO BE IN HORRIBLE pain from HEAD TO TOE...and mostly MY FULL BLOWN enchephalitis last year ...and I thought I would not make it alive.
Ok ...that was too long but I am giving my strong opinion that ALLICIN , HH and artemisin are GREAT and they address , lyme , bart , muco and babesia ...just stay on high dosages for a long time...to reach THE BRAIN.

Derek, I totally understand where your coming from. I now on a triple herbal protocol for babs- not even treating the lyme yet, and its hard as heck to tolerate. And still i'm fatigued as can be. But like you I refuse to give in. I will wind up trying everything that I can tolerate.
My main thought as I was writing above, was that too me with all the herbs that the Chinese have in their toolbox, hundreds, I would think that a great practitioner of TCM would be able to change things up for you based on their pulse readings. I know If was to go on the Zhang protocol I would want the direct opinion of the man who developed it. Just my thought. Hope you feel better. JL

When I was first diagnosed with lyme almost two years ago, my first LLMD had me on the full Zhang protocol WITH antibiotics. I did that for about 8 months.
It's really hard to say whether it helped since I WAS getting "better" but was it due to the Zhang, the abx or a combo?
I did end up relapsing hard at about the 17 months point while still on orals and now going the IV route, but I think the jury is still out regarding Zhang.
I do believe aspects of it are definitely beneficial, but as to if it can totally wipe out your lyme, I never did it alone without various abx. Good luck in your search.

I was doing some research on another forum re bartonella/BLO as that is my biggest issue. I found there some were taking up to 9 capsules of HH per day for this. Well it's definitely helping to kill my bart at this dose, but I am wary as I've seen this pattern with myself before. It is also very expensive. My acupuncturist can do the formulas for about half the price so I am ready to try that. But...it is helping.
