Hi All-

I am now ONE month into Babs treatment-

I have been taking Primaquine - One Pill a day-

I hope I am not Jenksing myself but I have to
say I feel Really Great -

My Babs symptoms have been ZERO -

I did have a slight amount of wacky heart beat
on my usual 28 day schedule but barely noticeable-

I have Not taken any mepron in the last month-
and only a few bactrim mostly to
just to set my mind at ease --

The Primaquine is what is used to cure Malaria-
It is used with Chloroquine at the beginning of treatment --

Primaquine is VERY Cheap - Cost $1 a day-

Primaquine comes in bottles of 100 -(Only)
so if you try this have your doc write the script
for the Full 100 pills- you are going to have to pay for them ether way so you might as well
get what you payed for--

I got some from Walgreens and they charged me Full price of 100 pills and I got a total of 30-
Dont let them screw you like they did me-

The Chloroquine comes in bottles of 25(Only) and
cost about $100 but you only take them for
one week --

This is my Second round of this treatment-
the first round I did about 8 months ago-
The treatment seemed to work well but the herx
was BY Far the Worst I have ever gone threw-

This is Not a treatment for Anyone that
can not take pain and crazy things happening
ALL at Once to your Body--

In other words you have to be a Tuff SOB -
Seriously -

I did this treatment a second time because I got
bit and reinfected with babs again about 6
months ago-

The second treatment the Herx was NOT Even close
to as bad as the first time that I did the treatment -- was not bad at all-

I felt bad for about a week - then just felt better each day so far --

I will keep you filled in on my progress-

For futher info on this treatment Google-

- WHO Primaquine Chloroquine Malaria Treatment -

Take care--Jay--

Hi folks. Haven't posted in quite a while. I moved to Switzerland and my health took a dive.

I've been treated for babs for 6 years now. My symptoms were somewhat controlled when I was on Mepron/zithro. Then, almost two years ago, I became over sensitive to zithro. Changed to biaxin.

Didn't know at the time that 20% of people on biaxin/mepron experience the babs becoming resistant to the treatment. That is what happened to me.

But it took me a over a year to figure out what was causing my slow debilitation. Then I got Schaller's book on treating babs, and it all fell into place, to make a long story short.

It was March this year I (and doc) changed my babs treatment, but nothing has been as affective as mepron/zithro.

Now I am taking 2 malerone a day (couldn't tolerate higher doses) plus cleocin/quinine 10 days on and ten days off.

Struggling to survive.

All good info!

It took me a month on Malarone to get up to the 4 pills a day dosage. When my LLMD told me I would have to treat it for twice as long if I couldn't handle the 2 pills 2 x a day dose I decided to tough it out and now I don't even notice. I just herxed so bad in the beginning that I was very tentative. Now hopefully I'm on track for only 2 to 3 months of treatment.

I know some have had problems with the cost, but my insurance only charged me a $25 copay. Well so far anyway!

Did your LLMD not pick up your long standing symptoms and recommend you change your meds? as there are so many combinations to treat Babesia now and although it can be tough to treat my LLMD would throw everything at it until he got it finally.

Why do you not do the Primaquine/Chloroquine?

Hope you feel better soon.

ME TOOOOOO

I am on 4 malarone a day but taken all together with art cream, I am 5 weeks in to treatment and the babs herx has been the worst ever, it started day 24-26. It is getting a little better although I had to shift the dosage from morning to night time as I was so sick all day.

I dont care what I have to take but this babs is GOING!!!!
