it really makes me angry that lyme can be sexually transmitted. Unfortunately most of us don't know this fact before we are with or spouses etc. it just isn't fair. Just venting.

It would help if they did more research on the subject but so far there is not much so how are we to really know?

I think Lyme can be sexually transmitted.

I also know babesia strains cross test so you and your partner may have the same strain after all.

Often people do not see the tick because it can be long gone by the time they develop symptoms. Ticks can be so tiny you might not notice them or they may bite you in hidden places. You can get a tick bite and not receive a bulls eye rash.

I don't really think it is sexually transmitted. I know too many people who have had chronic lyme for years and have never given it to their partners.

I think sexual transmission probably depends on your partner's immune system and if they have a lot of mercury or other toxins in their system or how many tick bites they might have received in the past - prior exposure.

Robert Lane from UC Berkeley did studies that showed the first time a horse receives a bite from a tick with Lyme disease nothing happens until they receive a second bite and then they get Lyme disease symptoms so repeated exposure might have something to do with getting full blown symptoms.

Another study tested many people in the San Francisco Bay Area and as I recall 50% or some number close to that tested positive for tick salvia. I think many people have been bitten by ticks in the past without knowing it.

Horse flies and other biting insects have been known to spread Lyme disease as well.

I have LD and my hubby doesn't. In fact we believe I have had it for 10 years at least and I have been married the entire time. So we've had sex, or at least we used to, and it didn't transfer to him. We tested him through Igenex - mine was found through LabCorp.
