Aside from the burning stabbing pains in my neck and face...I've got a different type of pain that is so horrible, annoying, painful, that it makes me MISERABLE. I know there's one other person that I know of, but I was wondering if there's more and if there is, what do you do about it?

The sides of my neck, the muscles, even down to the muscles on my shoulders are SOOOOOO TENSE. They feel like they are always in a state of contraction. It is NOT STRESS related or anxiety related but enough anxiety medicine makes it all go away completely, BUT once again, it is not from anxiety.

It is the most horrible thing ever. Does anyone else have this and what do you do about it?

Please don't tell me I'm the only one. Oh yeah, and the tightness also creeps up to the top of my jaw line sometimes.

I'm looking into botox. Anyone tried that? If so, what did you use it for and did it work?

I haven't had this, but I can say that my father had botox in two different locations (buttocks and neck) and both helped tremendously. Good luck.

Yes, I have it. It was so bad that one of my shoulders was drawn up to my cheek.
I started seeing a specialist Chiropractor that practices the Atlas Orthogonal technique.
The very first time I went suddenly my shoulder just let loose [Smile]

Problem is, chiro's that use Atlas Orthogonal aren't quite as hard to find as LLMD's... but they aren't on every block either.

I have the very tense contracted feeling in all my neck, traps, a jaw.

What I use that really helps is a TENS unit. It stimulates your muscles to relax.

I had mine prescribed by my orthopedic Dr. when he diagnosed me with Alkylizing spondylitis sp?

It really helps alot while using it. Unfortunatly the benefit wears off about an hour after the treatment is done.

Sometimes I keep it on for hours.

Insurance paid for most of it and I pay for the pads when I need them.

What do you define as good magnesium? How much per day? I tried Magnesium Citrate (615 mg serving in powder form). It gave me doubling over cramps quickly. I really want to try magnesium and give it a legitimate effort.

Like Don said, not from Wallyworld, or any other store brands either, at least in my opinion.

It seems to me you may have been on too high a dose. Start lower and gradually increase it. Stop, or drop back if it causes GI problems.

Ahh yes and flu like down the spine and blow torche burning....

The most effective for me - aside from the above mentioned;

Physical Therapy with a certified Feldonkrais therapist - covered by my insurance, was magic for my entire system!

My osteopathic doc - DO - who does more complete adjustments than my excellent chiropractor. Also Myer's cocktails and IV C - great detox.

My chiro had been the best relief before the above.

Also for pain that's not rx, FibroMalic by Trask. Magnesium, Malic Acid, C, B6 MSM & Olive leaf extract. Seems to be the only combination that relieves 'fibro' pain - sort of takes the edge off of the shoulder earring thing.

I'm not into botox but a friend has nerve damage in her face and swears by it. I figure I have enough toxins.

What about B12 injections into the muscles? Horses get them, haven't heard of it for people but why not?

I hope you get some relief soon!
