Diagnosed with C Diff, just finished taking 10 days worth of Vancomycin. I still continue to have tons of bloating, feeling like my stomach is being stretched (that is strange), and just kind of crampy.

Thursday I see my PCP. I'll do another stool culture to be sure everything is clear.

Does anyone know why these symptoms would linger on? I'm taking VSL #3, Proboulardi from Metagencis and another probiotic.

Sorry to hear your belly is bloated and you are so miserable.

Two thoughts.

FOS.. and ingredient in some (most probiotics) can cause gas and bloating.. and pain.

Try doing a search on "leaky gut" syndrome.

Hope that helps.

Tickalert,
Sorry to hear your symptoms continue. I have a similar history with C. diff.

For me it was not only a problem with particular probiotics, but also food allergies and intolerances that caused bloating and other continuing GI problems after the Abx to treat the infection.

Maybe consider what's in your diet that could be contributing to the symptoms. It's been months of trial and error for me but there's been significant improvement by eliminating things I used to eat without a problem before C. diff. but can no longer tolerate.

Best wishes figuring things out, Grannie
