Please tell me this won't last very long. I am only on 1/4 dose for a couple of days. I woke

up with a headache, stomach cramps, the shakes, an all over flu feeling. Holy cow. How long do ya'll think this will last?

p.s.

How long should I give this? Today, I'm thinking if I don't get improvement by this

afternoon...there is no way. I just need some advice on when to call my Dr. and make a

switch. I am dizzy...and nauseous.

dumb me -- my doc started me out with a WHOLE pill and didn't know....i thought it was going to die....i had such a massive migraine i just curled up and squalled....

after 3-4 days it went away but it was very tough going.

i'd say hang in there just a couple of more days and see how you do. it's the best, for me, for neuro.

First of all, make sure your Flagyl is brand name (like Pfizer) and not TEVA generic Flagyl.

Next, start off with a sliver of a pill 1/8 every other day or so. Wait for the herxing, and adjust slowly from there.

Start very slowly and build up. Most patients need to do that, although there are a few lucky ones who feel fantastic immediately. Ha!

Some choices:

1. Back off if you have to.

2. Lower to a SLIVER of a pill if you have to.

3. Ask for tinidazole instead.

4. Call your LLMD if you still can't handle it.....OR make number 4 number 1!!

You must have a lot of cysts to get rid of.... very necessary to get rid of them.

I was told to add Flagyl once a month for 5 days to my regular Mino and Zith. Not knowing, I started with a whole pill (500mg I think) and got the herx from hell. I suffered through the 5 days, but I was a zombie. I was still able to get out, work and do stuff, but it was the toughest drug I've taken to date.

And, I hate to say this, but the cycle the following month was even worse. I actually missed a day of work. This is unusual for me.

That said, I did feel some improvement afterward and the 3rd time was much easier.

Cysts suck. Hang in there. You need to bust them up to get better.
