If I wasn't so tired, I think I'd write a poem on Zith. This is some kind of stuff.
I did Biaxin, and that was pretty rough at first. I was naueous from the Biaxin for the whole 3 months I was on it. But besides that, I actually felt great on it after I got through the first herx.
Then I did a couple other abx, which I can't recall.
And now I'm on Zith. I was expecting a hard and fast herx lasting about 4 days, then slowly feeling just a bit better. That's what has happened before. But no. Not this time.

About 30 min after I take it, it just hits me in a wave of exhaustion and stomach unrest. It's so bad I just have to sit on the couch or go to bed for a couple hours.

Anyone want to whine with me? Or even pass on some encouragement? Is this stuff working or am I reacting poorly to it?

I had a horrible time with zith. I finally had to stop it and moved on to another antibiotic.

Hi there [Smile]

I've been taking Zith for close to one year now so I can relate. I take 500 mg a day and it can be a rough ride. I don't fight it, if I get tired I lay down. The pro-biotics help my stomach quite a bit too.

Before the Zith I was taking Biaxin and took that for over five years so I know all about Biaxin. I'm getting ready to start the mino up to combinied with the Zith, now that will be a ride!

Mommy

Do hang in there. It must be so hard having lyme and being a Mommy too!

What mommy has time to rest, right???

I have been on zith for 4 months. Do take it with FOOD to avoid stomach upsets and pump up the probiotics. It wipes out alot of good bacteria our body needs, so replenish often with the refrigerated acidophilus/probiotic!

I had the extreme fatigue in the beginning, and still have fatigue in late afternoon.

If it makes you feel any better, I have slowly improved quite a bit while on Zith.

Shouldnt jinx myself, but I feel like I am close to getting symptom free.
(just when I say this, another symptom will pop up) [Eek!]

Try to perservere and sorry you have so much to deal with at the moment.

Good luck.

I am having a hard time on Zitho too..I made the

mistake of taking it on an empty stomach yesterday and it felt like my stomach was being ripped apart. Terrible pains..

Fatigue is my worse symptom but the zithro has made it almost unbearable. I am not sure I can keep it up.

I am also on mino and don't know if that causes fatigue too but I am in rough shape right now.
