Ok this is a crazy question, but as anyone noticed since getting sick or more so being on abx their poop has a more potent odor?

Today I had a bm and it smelt like Fish. (Sorry to be graphic and gross) I take 4 gel caps of EFA a day so I thought maybe this would explain it, but I haven't had this happen before and I have been taking EPAs for at least six months now.

Anyone?

Thanks

Not a doctor, I just learned a few things.

You are probably not digesting your Fish oil and most likely are taking too much. We all have been told - fish oil - fish oil - and it is being overdone by many. If you energetically get tested for it, your body would probably say no-no.

A sure symptom of maldigestion of fats is floating stools. That's when it is important to change the intake or add digestive aids. People with no gallbladder or gallbladder problems seem to have that problem because of lack of bile. No fat absorption - bad for brain and others. If you can't think straight any longer, it's time to pay attention to that.

Intestinal cleanses with mold/fungal die-off smell very bad, but not fishy.

Take care.

(something I learned over time from others and by our own experiences)

Could also be yeast. Follow the diet carefully or you will pay later.

I was going to respond the same as Lymetoo...yeast was an issue for me. As soon as I started taking my probiotics regularly, it went away.

Hey...our entire disease is gross.

don't know if it's just a fish oil problem, may be.

other thought that comes immediately to mind is intestinal parasites.

i know this is not a fav subject here, but dr. natura's program is rather "mainstream" as far as cleansing goes, and it's effective.

tbd's and their treatment pretty much guarantee that you will run into a problem in this area.
simple logic and understanding of the body tells you that. many people don't want to consider it.
let's face it, it's yucky.

i didn't get fully well until i addressed it, and it is a process. you won't likely deal with it with one quick cleanse.

Just wondering what do you mean by very loose stools? I don't want to panick but sometimes my stools are loose and sometimes they are not.

Its hard to be sure what is going on with my body as so many things are changing with it, I started taking all this abx, and I stopped eating alot of junk I did before.

Also, can anybody explain what it means to have mucus in your stool?

Thanks!!!

It Happened again!!! Its was fishy but metallic too, ugh I've been following the diet and taking probiotics regularly.

Maybe I should stop EPAs for a bit? I was wondering because when I googled it I found sometimes it links to Heavy Metal Toxicity, anyone find this?

This is not from the fish oil capsules. EFAs are essential.

Eat more greens. Especially increasing the leafy greens with your breakfast will help.

LOTS of water, too. More bulk.

Chlorophyl tablets will help as well.

I came back to edit in - be sure your fish oil caps are excellent quality.

Bad (or old) fats will do this. Be sure all the fats you ingest are of the highest quality. Organic coconut oil added may help as well.

Avoid anything fried, of course and toss out any old oils. Same with nuts in the pantry. Even in the freezer the don't last forever. If they smell rancid or taste old, do not eat them. Throw them out. Bad oils are not even good to toss to the squirrels. Keep nuts in the fridge or freezer until ready to eat.

Good luck.
