Well now she is complaining of bad headaches and stuff. Should she get tested?? and if so what type of test should be done? thanks

The spirochete's been found in all body fluids, and while they don't know whether or not there is transmission via saliva, they
do know that, like its cousin, Syphilis, Lyme's an STD.

Well surfrider19, are you currently seeing an LLMD? If you want to get your girl tested, you should go with the good tests. Like the iGenex ones. Ask your llmd what tests you should get for her. I'd note though, that if you want to get her tested, it's gonna cost a ton. First you'll have to pay an LLMD for an initial visit, which is usually a lot of money ($250+). Then you gotta pay for the igenex, tests, which will probably be like $150-$600. Lyme disease is not a disease for people who are not rich. Especially since 90% of the things you need for lyme aren't covered under insurance.

If you do see an LLMD, how soon is your next appointment? You could present him/her with the entire situation, and if money is an issue, tell him/her that as well. Maybe they will take pity and offer you some kinda discount for her getting tested. In the meantime, keep an eye out for any further symptoms.

**Also, "complaining of bad headaches and stuff". Are headaches rare for her? Has she changed anything in her diet that could cause them. And what other "stuff"? How long has she noticed these symptom(s), and how long have you been with her?

But anyway, if she did indeed catch some borellia from you, then you would want to treat it ASAP, so she would have a good chance at a full recovery. She may not have it though, (medical) coincidences happen a lot in my experience. Don't freak out, but also don't shrug it off.

I'll keep my eye out on this post, but also feel free to PM me anytime, if you'd like.

Just trying to be as helpful as I can, good luck.

Over time, I've seen most LLMD's gradually move towards "Yes." I personally think it can.

In my opinion I totally disagree.

If lyme was like syphillis then treatment with penicillin would easily cure it. Also, syphillis is easier to diagnose on blood tests.

If lyme were sexually transmitted then it would be much, much more prevalent like a world wide EPIDEMIC instead of clusters of lyme in the northeast and uppermidwestern united states like you do.

I agree with experts who believe that when whole families have lyme it is due more to them being in the same envronment than that is is passed human to human with the exception of mother to child. (congenital)

Actually, there's plenty of Lyme in every state. It's just that in many it's not reported to public health authorities.

Given the possibility based on current circumstantial evidence, the substantial clinical reports of Dr. Jones and Corson (Both pediatric/family practitioners who see high rates of transmission among parents) and the significant damage it could cause, it is wise to practice safe sex, to do otherwise in my opinion is just unacceptable.

The risk to benefit ratio is clear. possibly giving someone you care about a devastating illness (Well maybe you don't care i.e. one night stands and such), or more sexual pleasure. You choose.
