Does anyone know if Scleroderma can be triggered by Lyme? After finding a bull's eye on my leg in 2000, a couple of years later my skin started getting thicker and tighter and I am told I have scleroderma. Could there be a link between the two? I am at a loss and don't know what to do?

Lyme triggers other autoimmune diseases so I would assume that it could trigger the development of scleroderma.
Hopefully someone else will come along with a more researched answer.
Lyme is also called a great imitator. If you are concerned that you may have the infection then you should definitely see an LLMD. They can help you get tested properly and treat you if necessary.

I was told i had scleraderma. Just ahd bloodwork done and it is still coming up. My doc did some research and found that mercury can mimic auto immune diseases. i will be detoxing metals soon and will have to wait and see how it works and have bloodwork redone after i am done the metals.
