I've been sick now for more than 4 years, with gradual improvement over time from a variety of treatment protocols. I had Lyme, Babesia, and Bartonella, and I think the Babesia is gone.
For the past month or two (I wish now that I had written this all down), my legs have been very achy and stiff, particularly when I wake up. It's an all-over feeling, but with no joint pain. And my foot soreness has gone away too.
I thought it was biotoxins, but I've been doing a lot of detox with no results, and did not experience toxicity back when I was first sick and treated with heavy duty pharmaceuticals for all 3 diseases. Have been detoxing for several years, in fact.
I don't know if this is related, but I've had more trouble sleeping during this time period as well.
I do not think I was rebitten.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Good Morning Sweat Pea My legs and arms ache soooooo bad... Does the front or back of your leg ache. Something i started doing after learning about it from this board is epsion salt bath, really warm and i doubled the salt in water than the container said. After i get out of the tub i put a warmer on my legs and arms. I bought this pad at walmart. it has bead things inside of it , you place it in the microwave for 2 minutes, it stays warm for about an hour. I also elevate my legs i dont know if that truly helps but i like to belive it does. Once a month i get a massage the next day me legs kill me but then for the next couple of weeks they feel great. its kida of a cycle for me. let me know if this helps or if you have tried this.... hope you feel better

Thanks, Shelly. I'm sorry you are having problems with your legs, too. I'm actually looking for the cause of the problem, not symptom treatments. But you're right, the epsom salt baths do help, and they help me relax, too. My partner has one of those eucalyptus bead bags for his neck pain, it's great because he can hang it around his neck.
Thanks so much for being the only person to respond to my post. :-)

Sweet pea, I have achy legs too and it is worse when I have been sitting for a while and is bad when I am in bed. Its been a symptom for me since I have been on antibiotics. I just started levaquin the beginning of October and my leg aches have increased. I am thinking levaquinn is the culprit but overall it seems to be making my other symptoms less. Have you been in treatment since 2004? For me one year but sick since 03. Beth

It is difficult to pinpoint causes of aches and pains because there are so many possibilities.
But if coupled with lack of sleep, I am wondering if magnesium might be low? Also, some infections cause me to not sleep, like fungal infections, for instance. There are a few others.

Try some B12 shots and see if the achey legs go away? Your intrinsic factor is probably kaput They sure helped me.
-------------------- Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Remember Iam not a Doctor Just someone struggling like you with Tick Borne Diseases.
Beth, I've been in treatment for Lyme for over 4 years. I am being treated for Bartonella now as well, have been since May 2005. I initially attributed my leg issues (which started about 1- 1/2 years ago) to the Bart, but am puzzled why the aches are getting worse and not better.
Claire, You could be right about the magnesium. I've been avoiding it due to the theory about biofilms. About 1-1/2 years ago, I took a mag supplement -- just the amount recommended on the bottle -- and had diarrhea (which I never had on abx), plus what I think was a relapse.
Tree, What is intrinsic factor?
