I use Chisolm Immunfactor. I have 5 and 7 here. I have an extra bottle of 5 and 7 as I had to have it made without lactoferrin as I'm sensitive to that. Lactoferrin helps your gut kill bacteria.
If you want a discounted price PM me. 5 is for strep staph and e coli and 7 is for fungi.

Researched Nutritionals Multi-Immune and Lyme TF. I've had two docs say these are the best brands.

I am taking Immunfactor 2 from Chisholm Labs. It is very pricey...it costs $4 a pop. I am taking that and only that right now as I didn't take probiotics with my antibiotics and so screwed up my stomach. I take 5 of them in the morning and 5 of them at night. I think they do a better job at keepings things under control then the antibiotics I have taken. I truly love this stuff except for the price is too much for me to handle so as soon as my stomach is strong, I'm going back on abx. If you buy 4 of the 90 capsule bottles you get a discount. Good luck.

I've been taking Researched Nutritionals Multi-Immune, as this is the brand my LLMD suggested to me.
I like it and feel it has been helpful. And it's not as expensive as some of the other brands out there.

I also take Immunfactor 2. But, you take 10/day? Wow! Talk about expensive. I get a professional discount on my bottles, but only take 1/day. It still costs $90/month. You must be spending nearly that every day! Should you really be taking that many? Has it helped you?

I don't (personally) think that an injectible form would be any better. In the oral form you are supposed to open the outside portion of the pill and let the contents sit under your tongue until they are absorbed (about a minute). It goes right into the bloodstream. I haven't heard much about the injectible form, but it strikes me as an overkill. Probably a lot more expensive and maybe not any more effective.

dont confuse the oral bovine formulas with the injectibe kind.
the injectible formula is 30$ a shot, and is actually human leukocytes. much different from bovine colostrum...
supposedly much more effective also. i spoke to oramune on the phone and the injectible form needs a dr rx. one does 4 shots a month to start i was told and then increases from there.
each shot has the equivalent of 100 million human leukocytes in it.
i am in the process of getting the shots approved through my llmd and will let you all know how it goes.
cheers

Injectable TF from Oramune.com is made from human immune cells. It is very different than oral TF and for some, much more effective.

Has anyone seen improvement after using these transfer factors? They are really expensive.
I also heard astragalus root is also supposed support the immune system, but not sure how this differs from the transfer factor.
Do they both boost the immune system? Which one is better?

Yes, these transfer factors seem to be quite beneficial. They are expensive, but you often get what you pay for. That said, for oral TFs, I like Researched Nutritionals as well.

Transfer factors are little teeny tiny peptides that are essentially information for the immune system.
The Immunfactor 5--for me, I can't quite figure out what is going on. When I first started taking it, it was quite amazing to me. I felt not only more energetic (and some acquaintances commented on this) but a shift in my brain/mood that was significant. I really loved it and was only taking half a capsule a day. However, I began to have either bladder die-off (this is for strep and ecoli) or bladder sensitivity. If its the former, I should I guess tough it out as it would suggest I have ecoli in my bladder wall (e coli CAN do that, in the bladder, it can even go intracellular like lyme) in a deep seated longstanding infection. HOwever the bladder discomfort stinging and burning was so marked that I could hardly sleep one night, and without sleep, how am I going to get better? This is an unusual reaction according to Chisolm, and so, I'm kind of on my own here trying to figure out what it is. If someone could say, It'll last 2 weeks, or even 4 weeks, then your ecoli will be mostly gone, I could tough it out, but what if it lasted months or caused longer lasting bladder wall inflammation?
The other possibility is that the carrier or something else in the product is bothering me, as I've been known to have bladder sensitivity to many things, such as B complex (made from yeast etc) and maltodextrin etc. I also had this kind of reaction to 5htp years ago and to NADH (severe bladder burning) so it may be my own idiosyncrasy having nothign to do with infection, or perhaps it IS infection.
Since I don't really know, I went off the Immunfactor 5 for two weeks and now will try a little. I'm also getting Oramune--whatever their general TF is, to try that. That is simply pure lypholized product with nothing else in it.
So I'll figure it out.
I've read about the injectible TF. My only concern there is product purity from a small company. I mean, the only injectible blood product I get is IVIG and that goes through rigorous purification processes.
Therefore, I'd have to really weigh the possibilities of improvement here which is why I'm interested in what happens with Derek.
Anyway the upshot is I think this is an interesting approach to chronic infection altho it's essentially 'passive' immunity. However it could be really helpful.
Astragalus is quite different--a good general immune booster.

Oxygenbabe,
Immunfactor-5 also contains the transfer factor for Parvovirus B19. So your reaction could be due to a die-off of Parvovirus B19.
Just a thought.

Parvo in my bladder? I had cystitis a couple years ago--what an experience. It came on so fast I was at the Emergency Room at 2 a.m. begging for cipro.
Though it "cleared" up it still has never totally cleared up and I can feel it in there low-grade.
I'm figuring it's e-coli as that was what was in my culture and that's the main culprit for cystitis, from the gut flora.
So maybe it's die off. But if so what a drag cuz it is too uncomfortable. OTOH, although he said he specially made my order without the yeast, its possible there is yeast in there bothering me. It's a "filler" ingredient. That *really* bothers my bladder in b complex pills.
