Any information on MDL. What they are good for and what they aren't good for.

It seems different labs give different results.. I recently had some blood work sent to MDL and wondering if they are still a contender?

Yes, my most excellent LLD uses MDL, and they took my Medicaid. It was easy.

MDL changed over to robotics within the past few years. Since then a VERY prominent pediatric LLMD thinks they are missing a lot of cases and the coinfections.........to be sure test through many places, Igenex, MDL, Clongen, Specialty Labs for Bart, etc

Both my LLMDS have said that they have "sold out" since purchased. Tests not reliable anymore. [Frown] I was very disappointed to hear this because they are about the only lab that tests for mycoplasma.

They are. And yes it's true about their test for Bartonella. It has become "less" valuable, but as a whole the lab is competent.

That's really interesting to hear, because ALL my tests from MDL came out negative, despite positives from IGENEX and even Quest. This could explain it.

Igenex is by far the best test around for Lyme Disease, but it's still not perfect. Then I would say Central Florida is very competent, they Fry Labs, and Specialty labs and MDL and a number of other labs are effective for different things.

Quest is effective for consistent blood monitoring, enzyme levels etc. They also have some weak spots regarding hormone levels but are useful in other respects.

Stonybrook NY is the best of the "conservative" labs. They are far from as good as Igenex or the others I listed, but they are better than Labcorp and Quest and they are accepted as a mainstream laboratory.
