Does insurance ever cover the IGeneX test?

I have Illinois BCBS PPO.

They won't cover in-network as IGenix for some reason elects to not accept any insurance.

However, if you have an out-of-network benefit, you can receive some level of reimbursement for the Western Blot (#188 and #189 tests). Coverage will always depend on your individual policy though. You'll have to pay the full cost of the tests up front to IGenix and be reimbursed by your insurer later.

Other tests such as PCR won't be covered 99% of the time. You'd have to call your insurer with the proper CPT-4 codes to determine what is and what is not a covered test.

Pay for it out of pocket then when you get results the reciept will be with it make copy and submit it to them.

Mine was $800 which included the 2 western blots and testing for all co-infections. You might want to just get the western blots to start with.

you need to tel us the specific tests you are having done?

refer to my detailed post on IGENEX in my newbie package link below ok.

i break it down on western blot and some OPTIONAL ones....

2 western blot igm/igg cost total of $200

it's all prepay unless you are on medical
