Well, my symptoms before abx were just some knee swelling with a little pain in the muscles around the joint from the swelling.

Since taking doxy, my left knee hurts!!! I went to have fluid drawn off of it and they couldn't get any. So they say its the synovial membrane itself that is swollen.

I've lost some range of motion, I keep throwing out my hip because I favor that knee so much. I have to take ibuprofen to even think about sleeping half way decent.

I'm just really bummed out. I don't know if I should wear a knee brace or use some crutches. I cry just about every morning because I can't get my swelling to go down and I limp around all day.

I'm super upset that the orthopedic person I saw (never actually saw the doctor, only the PA) since January never even thought to check to see if it was anything non mechanical causing my knees to swell.

His answer was always cortisone shots, so I've had 2 in each knee, the last one in July (before I found out I have Lyme). His other answer was always just to "stick a scope in there and find out what's going on"...no thanks.

I know I should have researched more online, but everything I saw pointed to meniscus tears. I never even thought of Lyme.

We have a friend of the family who is a great orthopedic doctor up in Atlanta. I told him that I want to come up there to see him so he can check out my knee.

He told me to hold off a bit because he wants to fly down here and look for some property to buy so he'll just do it down here at home. So that's a plus.

I'm just getting REALLY fed up with this and I needed to vent to someone other than my wife. She's so great and listens to me all the time, but I try so hard not to become a pain about it.

Thanks for reading. Has anyone else had knee problems that could give me some tips???
