I am being treated for lyme with azith and cefdinir. Every few weeks I break out with what resembles a rash from poison ivy. The rash is only on my neck. One side of my neck is much worse than the other. The rash extends from in back of the ear and wraps around the neck to the adams apple area and always stops there. It can be very itchy.
I also would get this rash prior to treatment. The doc thinks it is a result of lyme.
What are your thoughts?
Also, any ideas on how to treat the rash would be helpful.

Anne,

Have you checked with your regular MD or dermotologist as well?

i guess its possible it could be a rash from a bartonella like organism. perhaps you could take a picture while you have it just it case it goes away.

if you google bartonella photos you may get something to help you determine what is similar to yours.

Have you been tested for any coinfections?

Just throwing some thoughts out there.

Good luck and keep us posted
