I used the LightWorks & it helped. You have to be careful since the infrared light can make you herx alot. After I got through the herx, I felt much better.
I have bad back pain, too. I used to have to take oxycontin every day just to function. The LightWorks seems to really help with pain. It also has an effect on Lyme.
If you use it to treat the Lyme, you should not take any abx. If you use it for pain - go slow & be careful with it. It does really help with pain, though.

I also use a back brace made from fabric that emits infrared wavelengths. It really helps when I have alot of lower back pain. I also got one for my knee when I was having pain there, too. It helped alot.

Back pain is not necessarily due to lyme disease. Upwards of 30-50 million people have back pain, which can be caused by MANY things. Have you looked into other causes of back pain? How old is your son? Has he had a MRI? Asssuming that the lyme disease is causing his back symptoms is a bad idea.

That is true - it's not necessarily Lyme. The infrared light is good for any kind of pain.
I found that my back pain did become worse from having Lyme. I was originally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I went to numerous doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors & none of them seemed to help.
It took the doctors 9 years before I found out that I had Lyme. It is good to check into other causes of back pain. I had back pain for most of my adult life.
Some people say swimming is good or strengthening your stomach muscles. It's just hard to exercise if you're in pain & the Lyme makes things worse.

I noticed that my mattress and pillow have alot to do with it.
Our bodies are just alot more sensitive then most.
And ol mattress wont do. You have to find one that works for him. Cant be too soft or too hard.
A couple of months ago I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. I went swimming and then went to sleep that night.
I had the most amazing sleep I ever had in years!!!!
I was 100% pain free!!!!!! I couldnt believe it.
What was different? Well the swimming for one, but I really think that it was the mattress.
I looked into getting the same mattress and they wanted 1400$ for it. It was way to much.
Now Im looking for something used.
I think mine is too hard and unsupportive (if that makes any sense).
The one I slept on before was fromt he 60s! Imagine that. It was older then I was.

i have a background in physical education as well as having back pain
the exercises that often help back pain are strengthing the abdominals
this does not have to be painful...and shouldn't be-you could do more damage if it is
you start slow-easy...where you are at and gradually strengthen-first pelvic tilts then crunches
when you walk you tuck you seat under, tighten your abds...and you can squeeze your cheeks at each step alit's best to start with trainer or pt cuz if you do it wrong you will do more damage...

Thank you for getting back to me. My son has been treated for Lyme's for 5 years....sick for 7.Many different treatments from hard core antibiotics, hyperbaric chamber treatments, and intense natural treatments. His brain fog seems to be better, but now his back pain is severe. Tried accupuncture, 2 types of massages, PT, heat - sauna, steams, and the pool, and pain killers. We are assuming it is the spirocettes settling in his spinal cord. Wondering if any Lyme patients have suffered and got results from ? Thank you.

My daughter has been in treatment for almost three years. She started back pain about five years ago.
Recent MRIs show that every disk in her spine is bulging. She has other issues in there, as well.
Doc thinks it's all due to inflammation from the bacteria.
Any anti-malarials make it worse. So, I'm guessing it's getting in there and causing a ruckus.
She is going to see a pain specialist so that she CAN do PT.
If she can get rid of this pain, she will feel like she is home free.

I have had back pain for years, my recent MRI and Cat Scan show more degeneration as well as 3 bulging disc's.
Injections haven't worked at all and I'm attempting pool therapy but the only thing I can do so far is walk a couple of laps in the pool. minor exercises were soooo painful
today I start electric pulse therapy.
I also had an EMG and I was diagnosed with CIDP. Clearly the inflammation is not helping the back issues.
I wish there was an easy answer. Just be vigilant.
