The emedicine article was pretty good, though I disagree with the use of D2, If we make D3 from sun exposure, why supplement with anythin else?
Also, the Holick study that demonstrated that D2 raise D levels as well as D3 did not show that whatever condition that the deficiency was related to change equally with D2 vs D3, and even if improvement is noted initially, the effect wears off as the body preferentially uses D3, so supplementing with D2 only will actually deplete D3 levels.

Dr L- My LLMD gave me a 25,000 IU script for D (to be taken once a week). Are these high-dose D pills generally D2? If so, perhaps I'd be better off taking 4000-6000 IUs of the regular D3 supps per day....

I don't know of a 25000 IU product, it may be D2 but could also be lanolin derived D3. Check with the manufacturer if you can.

The pharmacy told me today that it was D2. It's odd too because the first few weeks I seemed to be feeling somewhat better and now in the fourth and fifth weeks I'm heading downhill somewhat with the fatigue. So as you have said perhaps the D2 works initially and then crashes the D levels...
I am on IM bicillin as well....
