I just bought a honeywell 1700 True HEPA. It was about 119.00 at Home Depot. It is awesome at changing the air quality.
No more sneezing. Drawbacks, not for a bedroom unless you are going to turn it off at night. even LOW is kinda loud.
Positives: Price, Exellent at cleaning the air, no filter replacement.

Thanks I would like to find a quiet one for my bedroom but I could always turn if off at night to get rid of the noise.

I want all the suggestions I can get so I can have choices.
I think I only received two replies last time. The same two I think... I know other people out there have got to be using air purifiers.
I of course want to purchase one with the lymenet Good House Keeping Seal of Approval on it before I buy.

I would like to find one as well - so this is a great thread. There are a few on sale at Home Depot right now. Not sure how they work/sound.
Uh oh - didn't know there was a Lymenet Good Housekeeping Seal - and I'm sure very little in my home will pass these days!

We have an IQ Air system (portable unit).
Expensive. We paid about $800. It is NOT quiet...still...I LOVE IT.

i use a Blue Air air purifier. Costs about $500. and does a really good job. You can Google BlueAir and find them.

i just bought a honeywell model at home depot. don't have model number tho. it's the white tall oval one. cost about 100 bucks.
has an off, high and low switch. really quiet. we use the low switch at night.
it has a pull out filter that you wash.
it does seem to help.

Hunter Quiet Flo. Change carbon pre-filter every few months and Hepa filter (expensive) approx 1 time a year. We leave it running 24/7. Very quiet and seems to work wonderful.
