Dr. J.B's guidelines say up to 600mg. I would suggest to ramp-up, increasing slowly as you feel you can handle it. Take it with food - not dairy. Take your Probiotic daily. Protect your skin from the sun exposure.
Good Luck -p

Thanks for the responses. I just increased my dose from 300mg/day to 400mg/day and am really herxing much harder. My Drs also increased my Tindamax to 1500mg/day.
I wasn't getting much of any response before, so I feel much better about this now. Once I start to plateau out again, I'll ask to increase my dose of doxy again.

When I was taking doxycycline, my doctor at the time said that doxycycline is effective in your system for 12 hours.
So to him, staggering the doses was not as effective as a stronger dose 2x per day. (I think this is also consistent with what I'd read in Dr. Burrascano's guidelines.)
BUT, when I went from 400 mg/day to 600 mg/day, that meant I was taking three 100 mg tablets together at a time, and I got very sick to my stomach.
For an entire week, I felt nauseated much of the time, and I threw up 3 times.
I discovered I wasn't eating enough food with it! Once I increased the amount of food I ate with the medication, I was totally OK with the increased dosage.
