Hi. I have been on 200mg doxy for 2 mths and my LLMD just switched me to minocycline 200mg bc it does better at penetrating the blood brain barrier/spinal fluid. To start, I was feeling okay, but now day 5 of mino I have these problems:

burning pain in my spine and joints
pain in my gums
bad heart burn
naseau
pain in my eardrums
numb hands
RED hands
tingling tongue
sore and inflammed throat
can't sleep!

I know this is a herx and a very good sign the meds are working. Should I keep up with the 200mg or take a couple days and go to 100mg to give my body a break?

I want to get through this fast and push as hard as I can. I am also on valium, lovenox, and tenormin.

How long will this be exascerbated to this extreme? I could barely work for two hours today. Thanks for any comments. =)

Personally, in my opinion, I would call my doctor and then cut down.

Mino is pretty powerful. I started on 50 mg every 3 days, and that had quite a strong effect!

Be kind to yourself; often with tick borne diseases, the slow and steady approach works best.
