With all the bad out there I wanted to spread a little Lyme cheer. We took my 3 year old daughter to Dr. C in MO for a 4 month follow up appointment today.
She was diagnosed with congenital lyme due to a tick bite during my 8th month of pregnancy. Was late to walk, crawl, not on the growth chart for being so small etc...
However, he said that she is responding so well that we only have 3 months left of antibiotics! That will be a total of 7 months of antibiotics but he said he expects to never hear from us or see him again.
That is great news not only for our family but for all the pregnant women out there who unknowingly pass on Lyme to loved ones.
Dr C did say that when children face trauma (car accident, death in family, moving) they often relapse but the relapse responds to treatment well. So please smile on our little bit of sunshine!
Now if my body can do as well as her tiny body...
