This is a question for those with Lyme Disease who have also been tested for Chlamydia Pneumonia.

Dr Grath Nicholson recommends that you be off antibiotics for 4 weeks before testing for C.Pn antibodies. BUT I am on abx for Lyme, and don't want to stop.

Have those who have tested positive for CPn been on or off abx?

I've tested positive for Cpn both on and off antibiotics.

My most recent test for Cpn came after being on doxy for 5 months. I was as high as the lab measured for Cpn.

Might as well get tested as you currently are. See where you are at, then go from there.

Best, Timaca

Annelet, My personal opinion is that it's better to be tested for Cpn infection after you've been on abx for a while. You are more vulnerable to get a false negative result for this sneaky intracellular bacterial infection when you are not taking abx. When you are on abx and some Cpn are being killed, at least there is some loose genetic material to provoke the antibodies that will be measured.

My blood gets tested at Focus Diagnostics lab in CA for various reasons. They are a good lab, but a bit problematic to have blood tested at unless your doctor has an account with them.

Most labs have a Cpn test. I think Quest does. I think LabCorp does too. Ask your local lab.

Best,
Timaca
