I can't seem to find any definate description of anxiety attacks. I was diagnosed as having them 2 years ago (Pre Lyme dx).

The last 2 days have been awful, the worst "attacks" I've had yet.
I'm currently taking zoloft for that and have been afraid to quit.

These attacks start with a cold tingling feeling in my legs then moves to my chest and head. Then I get a Hot flash from heck and my insides start shaking really bad. I feel tight inside, almost feels like some kind of seisures.

The next day after these episodes I'm exausted and have severe diahreaa.

I just wanted to know if anyone here has the same type of "anxiety" attacks or could this possibly be my thyroid? I do have some growths on my thyroid that I haven't been able to afford to follow up on.

While discounted greatly on Lymenet, anxiety / panic attacks mimic many Lyme issues. Yours sounds much like a panic attack. I've read pyschiatric books on definitions of various anxiety disorders recently. Yours is very familiar.

Now thyroid issues can cause anxiety (hyper especially). Other medical conditions can contribute as well...adrenal issues, mitral valve issues, and more.

Don't let everyone say it's all Lyme, Lyme, Lyme. Don't discount it, but the world isn't all Lyme. I learned that. it could be a seperate issue warranting treatment or a result of Lyme.

I was trying to find a website which explained them in detail. There are many great ones, but I can't find them now. I'll re-post if / when I do.

Thank you seek,
I'm of the same thinking, it can get dangerous to always assume it's Lyme. My LLMD has a really good reputation but that seems to be his answer when I bring up my issues. His answer is that I'm herxing and might need to have my galbladder looked at.

Thanks for looking for the info for me. [Smile]

Only been to my LLMD three times and every symptom is Lyme...anxiety, teeth, muscles, fog, etc. There could be more reasons. I'm not asked if I'm clinically depressed. I'm not to my knowledge, but...... I'm not asked if I have been to the dentist lately.

Know what I mean? If it wasn't all Lyme, would I continue paying $200-$300 per month for care? Conversely though, I'll try treatment and see how I respond. If I give Abx a fair trial and things are on the up, I'll give credit where it's due.

My guess is there are some LLMDs that aren't diligent about testing for tons of possibilities. Assuming the patient has probably had all tests known to man can be a dangerous thought pattern. Most of us sick patients have stacks of medical records 5" thick. DO I believe a LLMD goes through 5" of paper diligently - absolutely not. There's another $300-$600 patient sitting next door waiting for them. Time is limited. Do they take my records home to read them? I'd like to believe this, but I don't.

Saying you have the unknown / unidentifiable illness is perfect because as a doc you're never wrong. [Smile]

Hi ProudMom, Yikes!!

I ``used'' to get tingling from my toes clear to my head. Brain would shake (horrifying feeling), eyes would shake in my sockets, arms went to sleep with pain from thumb to armpit, stomach/chest/abdomen would shake inside (another very weird feeling) and sometimes feel tight (scary like up-tight-afraid feeling).

I did have some diarrhea, but did not think anything of it due to supplements, cleanses and detox stuff I was taking.

Don't know what caused these feelings - so I related it to Spirochetes feasting or some type of neurotransmitter (temporary) damage going on. I say temporary, because after three months of using my rife machine + homeopathic drops....and using the LightWorks for the past month, I don't have those feelings now. I pray they never come back, too.

About one year ago I had so much anxiety that I could not stand to have anyone behind me, would nearly faint when I heard noises or even a voice approach from behind. Once my husband parked the car in a scenic area, but I could only see a drop-off approaching and really freaked out, cried/shook, etc. until he backed up and left that area.

Two months later I had surgery to remove a tumor from my parathyroid gland.

Two weeks after surgery I went straight downhill because my immune system was further compromised and the Lyme disease took a deeper hold. I lived in our walk-in closet for two months with anxiety, shakes, tremors, MCS, horrible light/sound sensitivity, lost 14 lbs in three weeks, Candida took a deep hold, facial numbness, eye palsy, eyebrow twitching pursued for five months, whole body tingling, and those awful tremors all began.

Today, Elevens months after surgery, I am excited about life - exercising now, want to clean house (yeah), can cook for myself and drive myself again, and can sit at a computer to find out what's going on, plus share with others on LymeNet.

One of these day's I'll write my story and post it on a blog. It's long as everyone's story is.

Oh Yes - My doctor told me to take Ambian to sleep, but it works with the neurotransmitters. When I stopped taking it I was able to move out of the walk-in closet. Many of my symptoms decreased by half. Later on, some other symptoms showed up...now I've peeled some of them away with the Rife/Homeopathic drops, and some other symptoms have showed up. I am working them away with my LightWorks, rife/homeop.

I see one Naturopath who gives me some special shots. My Homeopathic gives me some special shots also.

Now I must beat myself up and go exercise away some more spriochetes.

Bless You ProudMom...I am so sorry that you are in the situation of enduring these attacks. Feel free to talk to me in person if this would help you... 480-361-1345.

True. You can't assume that everything is lyme-related. It's good to stay on top of your hormone levels. Many of these tests you can order online without the need for an MD's approval. It's one way to take control of your health and relatively speaking it's not all that expensive if you target the right tests....

Thanks again everyone for your advice. I think I'm going to try to find a GP doc somewhere near me. Right now my LLMD is the only doc I have and he's only focused on treating the Lyme and co.

Seekhelp/Lymeorsomething......

I agree with you both......Not everything HAS to be Lyme.......many other things can be causing certain symptoms......I think it must be overwhelming for doctors to treat us, but I think if they would just acknowledge they dont know everything.....it would help everyone.....

Personally.....my anxiety did not go away until I started taking small doses of Klonopin....although there is alot of debate about Benzodiazapenes......If your body is in "crisis", you have to do something......I had a hard time even leaving the house because of my anxiety and I tried all anti depressants out there......I can handle just about anything now and I dont worry about the long term effects of Klonopin because its about quality, not quantity anyway.......I take about .5mg per night and finally sleep thru the night and can handle any social outing now......For other people, benzo's dont work so well......everyone is different.......Peace
