I was wondering if a score of 385 is bad. Does it mean "sticky blood"? I believe normal acceptable high range is 430 perhaps.

Hi - My LLMD did a similar test -- came back at thick blood in May 2008. My blood was brighter red last week and I don't bruise as badly now.
HEMEX Laboratories ------------------ Phoenix, AZ 1-800-999-2568
ISAG Panel - Figrinogen Activity 356 High Reference Range = 180-310 - Gragment 1+2 315 High Reference Range = 80-315
ISAC Panel Flow CD62 14% in gate Ref Range = 1-27 CD62+ADP 48% Ref Range = 40-100
I take Boluoke by Canada RNA - Purchase it from NaturoDoc online.

seek: I don't know the 'range' of what's OK but 90% of Lymies have high fibrin in our blood.
I was tested at FFC and didn't need Heparin but they put me on Bolouk/Lumbrokinaise and at the time I couldn't tolerate it. I herxed real bad which makes sense if it thins the blood and the ABX can kill more germs.
Currently I'm on SerraPeptaise (Nutramedix) but I may switch back to Bolouk when I run out.

Hi Seek, My test came back at 307 in which my Dr. said he wanted to look futher into my # he, had a hunch.
So he oredered these tests:
Fibrin Monomer- which tells you if your blood is positive for making blood clots.
Mine came back positive for making clots. But the other 2 tests that he ordered were to tell the level of clots be made. They are:
Prothrombin Fragnment 1.2
Thrombin-Antithrombin complex (TAT) Thrombin-Antithrombin TAT
These test go futher into the clotting factor. Lyme definately makes our blood sticky. Mine was extremely sticky at the time of this test.
Are you taking any suppliments for this?

Thanks for the information. My LLMD doesn't give any thought to coagulation so the issue never came up. In fact, the LLMD didn't run the Fibrongen test.
It was ran by a holistic doctor. I gave my LLMD the results, but I received no further feedback.
I am not taking any supplements to thin the blood. I was never aware I had an issue as no doctor stated it. I have not had those follow-up tests done you indicated.
I do plan on taking Fish Oil, which I thought thins blood. I'm taking allium supplements too. I didn't want to pile on too many blood-thinning supplements without a MD's spproval. While I like to be proactive, I get a little fearful of "playing doctor."
I just wish my doctors were on top of their game as much as some of your yours. I don't know if this is a big piece of the puzzle when it comes to TBDs/general health or not. It's just another example that not all ILADS physicians beat to the same drummer. Weird.
I know sometims I sound frustrated, but it's irritating to learn more on Lymenet than from a physician you're paying hundreds of dollars to each month. It seems counter-intuitive. These things are not wild theories like the Bionic 880 which are not FDA-approved and inaccessable by the majority of U.S. Lyme patients. These are simple concepts I easily run across when I read presentations from top LLMDs around the country.
I read Tumeric will decrease Fibrongen levels substantially. Maybe I should try that. Anyone else use this with success?

I am very thankful that my Dr. did pick up on my situation because mine was a very dangerous one.
At the time I also was positive for having active lyme and chronic lyme along with a bunch of other infections. So all of this factored into his "hunch"
He put me on suppliment that has Lumbrokinase in it. It did wonders for me.
I will always have a clotting factor and have to be on something but using Lumbrokinase is all natural and works wonders for me.
I was so happy that I didn't have to end up using heparin.

KristenS: What is the name of your supplement? I'd be very interested in knowing.
I had some sort of test by Quest when I was at FFC in 2006 and then they ran a follow up test that showed that I didn't need Heparin so they put me on Lumbrokinaise. I have a copy of all this somewhere - I should find them to see what the tests were.
I put myself on SerraPepptaise when I did Cowden last spring/summer with my Dr's blessing and stayed on the Serrapeptaise when I went off Cowden.

Hi Mojo, It's called Coag Clear and I get it from the Fibro and Fatigue Center.
It brought my #'s down in 6 months. Which I was so happy because it kept me away from using Heparin.

My LLMD said that the results he sees from the Hemex test aren't very consistent with what the clinical observations seem to be (or something like that- in fact , the words he used when I pressed him on it were 'it's $800 and the test is so unhelpful'
That's part of what explains why different LLMD's may or may not use this testing.
