well, ya'll, i don't have the best luck this year.

there was a dirt clod on our sidewalk and i stepped on it, the ankle gave out, went sideways and i fell face first flat out full body down on the sidewalk.

both hands are scuffed up and scrapped. i twisted my bad left knee which already has torn cruciate ligament in it and is now all bruised and scrapped.

my ankle is swelling and i have a large goose egg on the bone of the ankle. my foot is swollen on the left side

i can turn my foot to the left but not to the right and not up and down. man, it hurts.

severe strain maybe? i can hobble on it but not walk. whoa, it really really hurts.

dang, this is my bad leg too....

what a klutz.....

thank heavens for an angel who sent me some noni lotion to try. but i certainly didn't plan on trying it THIS way.

anybody had any falls or anything like this?

where's the pain killers???

we were supposed to go to a birthday party at the first baptist church tomorrow, but it doesn't look like i'm going anywhere....dang...

i have had so many close calls with ankles lately---every time i recover i look up and say thanks.

i did fall on my butt awhilw ago. i crawled up the cellar stairs and blamed the pain on lyme because it was NOT worse than my other lyme pain-but the pelvis was broken.

i got worse and worse-was using crutches but in a really bad way-i don't now why or how i kept going.

i ended up in hosp for something else...can't remember what. i asked them to check it out-they said it couldn't be broken cuz my butt was so big.

when i went for check-up 4 weeks after being discharged from hosp-i said to doc.

"i don't complain from small pains. you better check this out. what if i have bone cancer and you are missing it>"

so he did the xray and came back in smiling and said

"you DID fracture your pelvis-a month ago-it's healing perfectly and will be better in 2 more months. just rest"

do you believe it. i wish i had the energy to go after him for mal-practice.

soooo...my point is. don't disregard you pain---get it checked out. we are so used to living in so much pain-we don't complain like normal folks.

take care of yourself...

sorry randibear [group hug]

If you tore something you may want to go to a chiropractor...

when i tore something or other (i forget the exact name now) in my arm,

i think i would have lost some of the range of motion without going to the chiropractor...

he stretched it and gave me some exercises (stretching) to do at home.

but when i fell i could only lift my arm a couple inches (i tore it good [dizzy] )

did you put ice on it...i think that is supposed to help with the swelling right after the injury.

Sorry you got hurt and will miss the party... I hope you heal quickly [group hug]

randi,

first 24 hrs ICE; next 24 hrs. HEATING PAD

my hubby says i'm an accident waiting to happen; guess i found my equal in you!

seriously, i'm so sorry you had such a bad fall!! i hurt for every body part you mentioned!

at work, i had face fall total body fall ... next day was worse ... parts acting up that i didn't know i'd hurt.

3-4 steps from being at bottom of my basement steps and FELL OFF step taking down laundry basket.

never broke anything but got my body out of whack terribly.

best wishes; we had our 1st measurable snow today; thought you too had received it also. [group hug] [kiss]

ha, we must be klutz kousins.....

if there is an accident waiting to happen, it's me.

i could not even get up off the sidewalk, mike had to physicall pull me up.

right now am sitting with a bag of cranberries on that ankle. i get an awful stabbing pain when i try to walk.

if not better in a couple of days, off to that dang duck...don't think the llmd will help.

i just hurt all over. took two alleve and plan on staying off my feet for a day or so....

i swear...if i didn't have my head screwed on, it'd loose it too....

it's a lot easier to walk in boots than these tennis shoes....

i should just give up and ride a horse everywhere....

Oh Randi!

I would definitely ice your ankle.

I hope it feels better and you can go to your party,

Melissa

Ouch Randi!

I hope you heal quickly, I dread the winter coming, I'm bound to wipe out at least once.

Take care,
Ocean
