Doing Tai Chi or Qi Gong, yoga or medidation- can help "ground" you without fancy or expensive equipment.
I'm amazed at the positive effects each of these has my body's ability to be calm and centered.
These effects have been measure with EEG and MRI, too. Positive changes can be seen.
In the very first Qi Gong class I took, the instructor had us test our muscle strength. Then we each used a hair dryer. Then we retested our muscle strength. No one in the room had much at all. It was amazing and would have been alarming if not for the next step.
So, what was then more amazing was that after we all did a little Qi Gong exercise as instructed - then retested our muscle strength - we were all quite strong, even better than at the beginning of the class.
While instruction has some cost, and is best to learn with a certified instructor (who can then suggest a DVD for home practice), many community centers offer classes at very reasonable prices.

There are many ways to ground but here is just one.
A fast way to ground
Sit on the floor and put you your heals together, your toes together and the bottoms of your feet together with your knees facing outward.
Hold your toes together with one had and with a fist hit on the place where you heels come together (not too hard) with the pinky side of your hand with your thumb facing upwards.
Exhale out short breaths through your mouth as you use your hand to hit on your heels.
