I was just curious how those of you on Tygacil are doing?? I am starting next week and was hoping to get a more recent update!
Any info would be great! Like are you used to it yet? Are you having any nausea? Have you seen any improvements and how long have you been on it? Also one more, are you taking any other antibiotics with it?
I appreciate any information!
Thanks, Onmyway

At my last LLD visit, I asked for it. He said no, people were not doing well on it. Either they were having intolerable side effects or it just wasn't cutting it.
That's all I have to offer, hope your experience is different~

I've been on it for about two weeks. I don't have any significant side effects, and doing fine with that. Combining with ciprofloxacin, and will add tinidazole later (in some days).
Tigecycline has many structural similarities with doxycycline, and with doxycycline I felt improvement after ~2 months. So I think it will take something like that until the big effects come (if they do).
Keep us posted if you decide to try. I have hopes for this abx, but it's still early.

Thank you Peterj for letting me know how it is going! I am really happy to hear that you are not having a lot of nausea with this medicine! They have given me Zofran for the nausea and I start my first infusion next Monday! I am so excoited to start this medication b/c I have a lot of neurological issues and I am preying this helps! My LLMD originally wanted me to go on Doxy but I believe there is a shortage of it right now! So we have decided to try this instead!
I will keep in touch and I would appreciate if you would keep me updated as well!!!
Take care, Onmyway
