Heres the story...and please dont question me to death about this. I have a phase contrast scope, if you have one...then go ahead let me know your findings...but if your just "saying you heard this or that" dont bother!
OKAY NOW: Yes, lyme cycles every 3-4 weeks, thats true. But think about it...if lyme has 1 colony then yes...its going to "hatch" every 3 weeks, and thats not disputed. BUT WAIT NOW, what if you have say a million lyme colonies? and thats a realistic number, perhaps even more...there going to hatch on there own 3 week cycles...and not match the original one.
How do I know this? I can kill off just about every hatchling one day, and the very next morning find another 1000 in a drop of blood! Thats how. Good luck guys/gals..take care...god bless you and yours.

So it sounds like you're saying this is a useless battle?

I take this to mean you are saying we can herx more frequently? That would fit with and explain my symptoms over the last two months or so. I have had episodes I cannot explain as anything other than a herx, occuring only one week apart. This has perplexed me.

Yes makes sense to me too! That is why we stop antibiotics in a month we crash as bad as when wW started this fight ( when we had a diagnose). Than add on it the coinfections that have a shorter cycle.Think about it!

Ive often believed that same thought, so having any sort of proof only adds fuel to the fire.
Case in point, this past weekend.. My typical flare cycle would have been a week ago, but this last weekend, I swear I was going through a herxing flare up.. auras, lt headache, nausea, ibs, weird aches, pains, brain fog, the usual host of oddities that would come and go, etc.
I think this only reaffirms the point about maintaining abx for at least 2 mos, past, the last known symptoms. You never know when another round of crud is going to surface.
On with the battle...!!

Lyme reproduces every 24 hrs. Spirochetes are being hatched and killed all the time. The 3-4 week cycle represents the "growth phase" of the entire population of bugs. They're not dormant other times, it's just that the size of the whole population periodically surges every 4 weeks because of exponential growth of the population, which makes us herx. http://www.cellsalive.com/ecoli.htm
If people really are herxing more than once every four weeks I wonder if it's because of coinfections.
