Hi, I need to begin Mepron tomorrow for my 2 and 3 year old who have Lyme and Babesia. I have heard nightmare stories. Any advice on giving it to them? Any advice on reactions they might have? I know I have to use it but am concerned since they are so young. If anyone has used it on their young children with success, I would particularly love to hear from you. (Note: my kids were infected 3-5 months ago and are not very symptomatic at all). Thanks so much, Beth

Sorry I can't give you any helpful hints here... but I am posting so the post will be seen by more folks.

Some people don't like the taste. We've found that peanut butter or ice cream will help to move it out of the mouth. Also eating it with something fatty is supposed to help with absorption in the body.
My kid also says it is better to avoid smelling it before taking it.
Try searching with the words "mepron taste" and several threads will come up with information on taking mepron.
I wish your children a speedy recovery.

Maybe they'll like the taste. It's bright yellow .... appealing to children!
Ask them to sample it and tell you what they think it tastes like. Don't tell them it's gross.
If they don't like it, try bribery (but don't assume they won't like it). Give them a treat afterward.
If that doesn't work, there's always the hold them down and squirt it down their throat method as last resort.
