If there are kidney problems, traditional kidney patients usually go on low-potassium diets. My dad has elevated creatinine and BUN from previous damage from a medication that was taken off the market, this was before he got Lyme. So sometimes he has to stick with a low-potassium diet.
Also, some antibiotics are metabolized more by the kidneys than others, so always look into that, too.
