I was wondering: can one have systemic yeast infection yet not show any thrush nor vaginal symptoms?

When I take a bit of Nystatin or S. boulardii, I feel a burning-itchy sensation in the palms of my hands and the soles of my feet.

I get the feeling I have Candida in my body, but cannot actually see any infection.

Any thoughts on that?

Hi Bob,

The symptoms of yeast can be a multitude. Here is a simple test, (a bit yucky) but its a way to tell if you have candida. It is called the 'spit test'.

http://www.adhdrelief.com/CandidaTest.html

If you are diligent about your diet, detox, take good refrigerated high culture/high strain probiotics, and a strong antifungal, you can keep candida (yeast) under control.

A few other good tips:

Probiotics will not kill yeast. It just replaces good bacteria.

I take on average 70 - 100 billion cultures a day (my probiotics) and alternate brands. Its not the amount of cultures but the number of STRAINS in your probiotics. Look for the ones with lots of strains in them.

1. Take lots of good probiotics with high # of strains (yeast preventative)
2. Take Antifungals-Oregano is great (yeast Killer)
3. LOW CARB/SUGAR DIET & Oral Mouth Care
4. Detox-fiber, lemon water, baths, excercise!!

I find that taking 2-3 kinds of probiotics a day is a good approach. Refrigerated ones are the most potent. You can get some of these at your local healthfood store.

Renew Life CRITICAL CARE (50 Billion) 10 strains (i take this-it is great & over the counter)

Iflora Professional Stregnth Acidophilus
(20 Billion-16 strains) doctor can order for you or you LLMD may have a brand he recommends

VSL#3-very strong, 225 billion cultures/8 strains. You can take one at night. It is very effective. You can buy this at CVS in the pharmacy dept. (refrigerated)

Here are few popular HERBAL antifungals to kill yeast:

OREGAMAX-works really good
Fungal Defense-good product
Oregano Force

Olive Leaf Extract, at least 15% - 20% oleuropein. Seagate is a good brand. All natural and made on the premises from olive leaf trees in california.

Believe it or not, yeast starts on the tongue. It is really important to brush your tongue really good every day and rinse with antiseptic mouthwash such as Listerine. Dip toothbrush in bleach and rinse off every time you use it or you can reinfect yourself!

No Carbs or sugar!--Feeds yeast.

And oregano, garlic, olive leaf extract, grapefruit seed are all natural antifungal herbs. You can google this or search on herbal websites.

Best to rotate probiotics and yeast killers every month or so if you can.
