RE-infected...again [bonk] [bonk] . My previous infections were in 76, 99, 03, 05 and I had been doing fairly well. I went to deer country in CA to visit family last month and I was very well protected, I thought, the ticks just find me though.

My symptoms began on Monday 11-25 and the fatigue was enormous, aches, etc. On Saturday I located the tick bite in my hair line. Went to the ER and have been taking 400mg Doxy a day. Sunday I ALSO removed a nymph from my back.

Tomorrow I see my general Dr. back in AZ. Can I get tested, does it matter? What drugs should I take? (I am allergic to family 1 & 2 cillins and cephasporine..sp?)I have not been keeping up with the treatment suggestions so I feel I am in the dark again. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Dear deersharon,

Sorry to hear about that. Where in California were you?

That is what I would take, that amount of doxy. But sounds like the most important thing is to get an appointment with an llmd.

You know the drill all too well; your general Dr. is just not going to know about possible co-infections and what to use. Your llmd will.

Take good care and I hope you get over this new bout soon. Knock it out early, it is good that you saw the ticks. Did you save them to get tested?

I was all over Northern CA, from Santa Cruz to Santa Rosa to Chico, visiting family. I know all areas have lyme, that is why I moved away from there. Some people just attract ticks...that's me.

How long should I stay on the doxy? The soonest I could have been bit was on the 20th, syptoms started the 25th, Doxy the 30th. Thank God I found it early this time.

I feel a bit better than I did last week. I really hoped I would never have to deal with this again. Oh well, God has a different plan than me! Thank you for your reply.

Hi Sharon -

I think ticks like me too--

I got reinfected about 5 months after becoming
symptom free -

A friend of mine brought his 2 scratching
dogs to my house and brought in some
unwanted gusts with them-
he lives in the sticks -

3 days latter I was sick as hello
and 2 days latter I saw the tick
and found a new bulls eye-

I started ABX right away but it took
6 months of ABX and alot of feeling
perty bad to get to feeling perty
good again --

Remember that you got a new set of germs
and co infections --

You can get clothing called Buzz Off-
it has built in bug repellent
and its is supposed to work on ticks also -
It dose seem to work at least for mosquitoes

Its kind of expensive but can be found
on Ebay cheaper --

I purchased shocks pants and shirts -

--jay--
It dose seem to work at least for mosquitoes
