My husband is an MS-Lymie whose CD3 count was recently tested---it was astronomical!
In looking for a way to get his CD3 level under control, I found sterols + sterolins.
The claim made by manufacturers of sterols+sterolins is that these supplements correct the balance between Th1 and Th2 cells, particularly by suppressing the Th2 cells.
As Th2 cells generate the message to produce more B cells, and thus more antibodies, these supplements are supposed to result in a desired immunomodulation of the humoral part of the immune system in people who are experiencing overactive humoral immune activity.
In theory, this sounds terrific---immunomodulation without making you vulnerable to every Tom, Dick & Harry infection making the rounds.
A couple of sites I've researched have either warned that these supplements should only be taken by people with MS under the direct supervision of a physician or have warned that they shouldn't be taken by people with MS. No explanation was given.
Still, most of the sites recommend sterols+sterolins for MS.
On the one hand, the sites I've found that discuss sterols+sterolins are not the type where infectious factors of "autoimmune" diseases are even imagined.
On the other hand, my husband does have MS, even if it was induced by Bb, Cpn, Mpn, EBV, CMV, etc.
Yet, if this stuff works, it seems like it could be exactly what he needs.
My husband's doctor is unfamiliar with sterols+sterolins, and I'm feeling like a "Nervous Nellie" about giving it to him.
Have any of you MS-Lymies tried sterols+sterolins? And what happened?
