I just got my IgG blood test results back today for mold. And I need some help interpreting the results.
Here are my results of the IgG mold test:
Aspergillus niger ---------- 26.57 ug/ml
Stachybotrys chartarium --------- 27.12 ug/ml
Does anyone know what those numbers would indicate? Are those numbers good or bad?

Are there any normal values listed beside the results?
What lab did the test?
On the surface, it looks like you have antibodies to thos particular molds. Means your body mounted a response to exposure.
I don't know if one could expect to see IgM antibodies to current exposure or not. Sorry but I don't know much else about those results. I had IgG antibodies to stachybotrys.

Testing was performed by Commonwealth Medical Labs.
You are above positive levels. Do you have any idea where you're getting this mold exposure from?

I don't know where I am getting the mold from.
There are two other people that live in the house with me and they are perfectly fine. So, if the mold was growing in the house wouldn't they be sick also?
Over the last few years I have lived in 3 different houses for extended periods of time and changing housing never improved my health at all. And one of those houses was virtually new.
I was talking with my nurse about the results and she told me that ALOT of peoples test results show elevated IgG antibodies for mold. She even old me that her levels were higher than mine and she is perfectly healthy.
Anyway I am not sure what to make of this mold test. Are my results something that I should be worried about or not?

Not necessarily. Some of us don't make adequate antibodies to get rid of the mycotoxins that are created by mold. We obviously make some but not enough.
This is relatively new information and while there is some science behind it, it is still being investigated.

If you can't get rid of the mycotoxins, you will remain sick. You must take something to bind them and remove them from your body. I take cholestyramine via Dr. S's protocol. Read the mold warrior book and look at Dr. S's website for more info about this.

There are houses being built right down the street from me that are being built in the rain. The roof is off allowing rain into the walls. Moist walls are a great way to start a mold colony. Also, if there is a source of water, like a leak, mold can grow, new house or not.

Does she have lyme? Lyme + mold is a disaster. Antibodies show exposure but don't show if you can get rid of the toxins.

Yes. For some, mold exposure means that they will continue to get sicker until they are no longer exposed the mycotoxins. Trying to treat lyme while exposed to mold *may* mean that you won't get well. That may not be the case for everyone but I think it is the case for many of us.
