I have been treating for one year as follows:

4 months IV Rocephin, 1wk IV doxy, 1 week IV cefapime
2 months Zithromax w/1 month diflucan
1 month cipro
4 months doxy
2 weeks mino

all monothreapy.

In the first 4 months my joint symptoms cleared 75%, my Baker's Cysts went away (after 18 years)!

My numbness and tingling have improved to 75%.

I have not had any resolution in my headaches, lightheadedness, eye focusing, floaters, head pressure. My feet are still achey, not painful in the morning. My anxiety has improved 60%.

Sleep and fatigue vary.

The symptoms that I initally was overwhelmed by still remain the same and in some cases appear worse.

I cannot exercise, drive, go in public places, all make me lightheaded and feel like passing out is imminent. I have spent the last year with disabling migraines and a tube sock tied around my head to alleviate head pressure.

I need advice as to my next steps. I have not addressed Bart, which I think is a major problem for me though I do not test positive.

I do not test positive for Babesia. I did have a positive heamobart/myco blood smear from Fry.

I do not need help with detox suggestions or alt therapies. I am already doing lots of detox and alt support.

I do need help as to a next step. I don't think that mono therapy is cutting it. I would like to ask my doctor on Monday about addressing either Bart or Babs. See if they will do more than mono therapy.

All thoughts suggestions welcome

I did test pos for CPN too. Sick for at least 18 years dx'ed Aug. 2007

Thank you in advance,
Feelfit

Treat the co infections even if you test negative. Babesia is not a bacterial infection therefore you need an anti malarial drug for that one. In my own experience treating for Babesia made the biggest difference as far as improvement.

I have had bad headaches for 15+ years. Since I have been treating babesia with malarone and Dr. Zhang's art., (about 5 months), my headaches are much less severe. I didn't test positive for babesia either, but I sure do herx with these meds!I can only take small amounts because I herx so intensely.

Also, my doctor has said that he likes to go after the Lyme with two antibiotics at a time(Dr. Zhang said the same thing about attacking with two different herbs), once you can work up to tolerating the herx.

Hope this helps.

Treating babs has been very helpful for me. Also, the physical symptoms can go away first with tx, before the neuro ones.

If you have had lyme and TBDs a long time, it can take more than a year for some of the symptoms to go away. I have felt best after two years of continuous treatment. It is unfortunate, but that is the reality for many with long term TBDs. Many also get a quicker response too.

ABSOLUTELY. Treat the bart harder and don't forget the babesia which has probably been hiding out.
