Had a series of labs done 1200$ igenex.... got a negative bart.

Is there another lab better for Bart... I have some skin marks

that are suspect.

Doc says not sure because I tested neg w IGENEX ... I want to be thorough.

Current meds are 1 Zith 600 mg. Mepron 2 tsp daily. 2 gr of Ceftin.

Feel like I am getting weaker and weaker.

I think I heard Fry Labs to be good for detecting Bart.....or you could save your money and just be clinically diagnosed....are you recognizing many Bart symptoms?

Not sure what they are. My llmd says I don't have it but I have a

skin rash since my bite that hasn't left.

Lymph's under arms are sensitive. Very weak and dizzy.

Not sure if the Zith is hitting it.

Plaquenil CAN cause bad side effects, and for me it seemed a little "toxic"....

......but it really jump-starts Zithromax. I took Plaquenil for six weeks with my Zithro and I could tell a difference, so you might want to look into adding it if you feel your Zithro isn't doing much.

If you search macrolide (zithro is a macrolide) and hydroxychloroquine (aka plaquenil) you will find some studies saying they work almost synergistically.

I believe lyme is a trial and error illness, but by the same token, if the bart drugs like Rifampin or Levaquin aren't helping you or making you herx within 2 months, I would tend to agree with the negative bart bloodwork......though of course never completely ruling something like that out.

Cooper,

If it helps you any, I tested negative for bart 3 times.

My symptoms were sore under my arms, (lymph)sore soles of my feet, headaches, heart palpitations.

My LLMD put me on rifampin and it is working quite well. She coupled it with Cat's claw, however, my lyme symptoms were mostly gone by that time.

I too, was on zith alone for 4 months for lyme. Then she treated the bart after most of the lyme symtoms had dissappeared.

They are actually the only few I have left.
