Hi, Through this whole illness I have had back pain on and off. My illness started with back pain.
Right now my back is killing me every time I try to do anything, squatting, lifting, laundry. After I do any activity my back hurts really bad, but if I sit down it stops.
Does anybody else have this problem? Could this possibly be related to Lyme or could I have hurt my back? I haven't done anything to hurt my back that I recall.
Any help appreciated.

I noticed a mattress helps but not %100. I have bad back pain too. The chiropractor told me that its mostlly due to muscles. I went to another one just to make sure and he took a series of X-Rays of my back. I will let you know what he found.
But basically the spine is one of the largest continuous bones in the back that controlls everything. So no wonder it goes out.

If your muscles dont relax enough while you sleep, then they start to pull on your spine and since Lyme and other infections cause inflamation of the muscles and pain, then they will be weak, therefore making your back hurt!
Try taking muscle relaxers from your doctor, magnessium or benadryl at night.
Also if you are around a pool or can get to one, that is an excellent way of working all your muscles in your body while gentlly stretching your spine. I know that the night after I went swimming I had no pain! It was amazing.

Thanks for all the great info. I was starting to think that I am going to have to live with this the rest of my life. It frustrates me b/c I am 28 and having all of these problems.
I really appreciate it.

Hahaha,,,, Im laughing because I just turned 30 and at 23-24 I felt like I was 90. No, really.
Stiff and in pain, balance was off, forgetfull, no energy. I have been suffering since I was 14. It was labeled CFIDS or mono then, they thought it was a virus. Thanks alot DOC!
The anti depressants were the worst. I wish I could give that doctor what I had, he would never treat another patient like that again. Docs think they know it all. What jerks.

That is so funny b/c I was diagnosed with mono when I was 14 and again at 23. Now I wonder if it was actually mono. Who knows.
It has been years since I actually felt good and had energy. I just blew it off b/c I thought it was from school. I am thinking now that it probably wasn't.

I can walk, but that is about it. Anything else makes my back and my whole body hurt. I think exercise would make me feel better, but I hurt while doing it.
