I have asked about these symptoms before but I want to ask again.
Please respond if you have any of the following or any suggestions. I am ready to jump off the side of a cliff!!
---- Ears full of pressure after eating...as if you are in the mountains
---- Throat feeling as if it is swelling and someone has their hands around your throat. It feels very tight alng with CONSTANT throat clearig. Feeling of pressure again in ears.
--- Sometimes this happens without eating. But a lot of times I will be fine and eat and it will happen. So I cannot figure out what is doing it.
They want to do an upper endoscopy in January to look for eosinophilic esophagitis.
Anyway that test is looking for allergens that get into your esophagus. Basically if that is true, they pretty much cannot know what is doing it, they just put on you inhalers, etc.
This is by far the weirdest and scariest symptom I have had in 16 years of dealing with this crap.
But then again, how do we ever know if this is another symptom of lyme or something else all together?
I would love to hear from someone with this, atleast I won't be alone.
Thanks

Some of my first symptoms were tightening in the throat, like it was closing up and ear pressure. I kept treating for ear infection, but it never did any good. I thought the throat thing was just anxiety. I now know that these symptoms are caused from LD.

My first Lyme symptom was fullness in my ears and I actually could hear very well at all out of my left ear, it was as if someone stuck a bunch of cottonballs in my ear.
Also with sharp shooting pains and ringing. I had all kinds of tests done by ENT and my doctor and a Neurologist etc. All of them said I was fine yet I couldnt hear.
Eventually it went away on its own and I was left with dizzines which cause me to seek out another doctor and find out I had Lyme.
I have read many placed that Lyme definitely can effect the Vestibular system and inner ear etc.
I've had this happen another time after diagnoses but I wasnt on abx.
Are you taking abx? Since I've been on abx I haven't had this happen. As for the throat that is a little scary, I would make sure its not an allegric reaction or something. I would check with your doctor.
Hope this helped, feel better.

Ear fullness can be from allergy or even just sensitivity to certain foods.
My ENT suggests I avoid: gluten, dairy, corn, soy and keep to low levels of salt.
All this helps tremendously. I have to go a bit moderate on the salt, though, as I have NMH and need a bit of salt - but I just don't overdo it and my ears are happier for it.
Ginger capsules, too, help. Ultimately, as lyme and other infections can cause inflammation, it's vital to address both the infection and the inflammation.
Ginger and Tumeric are both good anti-inflammatory agents, as is Bromelain - and many others, too numerous to mention.

I can definetly relate to the throat thing. sometimes it feels like i am choking on food or someone is chocking me. SOmetimes i think my throat is going to close up and i wont be able to breath. It passes.............. i really have found nothing that works...
