well, I have had a cough, mucus coming out for over 2 weeks. I just took my regular pennicllin vk for my lyme treatment, and now I have clear mucus with a slight cough. I got a chest xray, it is clear.
Doc in ER said I have viral bronchitis, but I think I have bacteria infection, and my body is resistant to the penicillin vk, and I need another abx. I am going to see another doc again, I am so frustrated

This is the 3rd day I wake up with swollen throat, like it hurts to swallow, then it gets better during the day. Then, the next morning, I get it again when I wake up. Could it be strep?

possibly, if you can have your doc run the strep culture just to make sure. However, penicillin should take care of strep.
