I treated for babesia for 2 months, but have now been off of these meds for 15 days. Before treating for babesia my asthma, that I normally only have in the summer, started acting up. Now it is acting up again, but it's not summer. Does babs cause asthma?

There are many things that could contribute to a new onset of asthma with an illness.
Mycoplasma pneumonia and babesia are likely.
My daughter had asthma come in early in her illness. With treatment, it's gone.

hey, can you tell asthma apart from air hunger- I've been wanting to know the answer to that. I don't have asthma but I get air hunger that might be sometimes triggered by exercise or pollutants, though I'm not sure yet. I do have and am treating babesia and it's much improved.

To me there is a difference in air hunger and asthma. I did experience air hunger, and thought it was pneumonia. Had a chest x-ray and didn't have pneumonia. I just couldn't get enough air no matter how deeply I tried to breath.
Asthma to me, feels more like a slight wheezing and shortness of breath, but not starved for air. With air hunger I felt like my lungs were huge, but no air was in them. It's really hard to explain the difference!

Not sure, but I know that my asthma is nearly non-existant now that I have been treating TBD's for a year.
I did treat babs very successfully for 7 months and saw a huge improvement in those symptoms.

Glad to hear many of you are much improved after babesia traetment. Just curious, what did you all use to treat your babs and for how long?
These are the parasites that came pouring out of me and many others.

Yes, my asthma goes away when I treat babesia. The breathing problems that accompany untreated lyme and babesia can definitely be mistaken for asthma.
