What is the "typical" dosage of Malarone, combined with 2 Zithromax/day and for how many months, to fight babesia/lyme?
Thank you.

Welcome!

So sorry Sunmaid. I can't help with your question. This isn't something that lay people should be answering because each person is different... and there is no set standard.

You also didn't mention dose of Zith.. 250 mg.. 600 mg.. or other?

You also don't mention the age, diagnosis, history, size of the person.. and allergic reactions, etc... so it wouldn't be wise for anyone here to tell you something that might be not right in your circumstance.

Even if you did mention those things... it would not be good for you to get this type of medical information here.

Can we help you locate a LLMD?

If so, please let us know. We'd love to try.

My LLMD issues 1 tablet a day, but that seems to be considered a joke amount by most here. He's put me to two before. The concensus seems to be 3-4 per day every day, but still don't know how 4 Malarone tablets compare to 2 tsp Mepron.

My LLMDs initial Babs protocol was 4 Malarone tablets for 3 days in a row and then none for the rest of the month. It was NOT effective. I don't even know if I have Babs for sure as all lab tests are negative. It's the typical clinical Dx we all love. [Smile]

I take three 250 mg tablets a day. Started on two a day back in August, then he increased it in September.

Also take two 500 mg tablets of Biaxin a day.

It would take 6 malarone a day to equal two tsp of mepron.

Right? 250 mg a pill vs. 750mg a tsp.

However, standard dosage is 4 per day.

I've done both mepron and malarone and herx on both of them.

Hugs,

Geneal

My dose was 1 Malarone a day for 2 months. LLMD says should be administered according to weight. I don't weight much.

Well..if you weight little and your doc recommended one Malarone, I surely shouldn't be on one! My LLMD does not dose at all by body weight.

I only weighed 94lbs on 4 malarone a day as well as the same for mepron.

So.....while yes weight is a factor,

Each body has a different tolerance level for meds.

I tried 6 malarone a day, but was clearly too much.

Had little red bumps break out in my mouth.

Yuck.

Just make sure you take it with fatty foods.

I am gaining weight back slowly, but surely on periactin.

Hard to stop losing it once you get going.

Hugs,

Geneal
